Shipping & Freshness
Our bagels are the real deal: hand-rolled on Shelter Island, baked without preservatives, and made to taste like an actual bagel should.
That also means they're not built to spend four days bouncing around the country in the back of a truck. So we ship them fast.
Bagels ship expedited only
Every dozen ships 2-day or overnight. You choose your speed at checkout.
No standard shipping. No economy shipping. We'd rather not send the bagels than send you a box that arrives past its prime.
Shipping is calculated by weight and destination, and you'll see the exact cost at checkout before you pay.
When we ship
We bake and ship bagels Monday through Wednesday so your order doesn't get stuck sitting somewhere over the weekend.
Our cutoff is noon Eastern.
Order before noon on a shipping day and your bagels go out that day. Order after noon and they ship on the next available shipping day.
Orders placed Thursday through Sunday ship Monday.
Choosing overnight? Get your order in before noon if you want those bagels tomorrow.
How to enjoy them
Every dozen is nitrogen-flushed and sealed before shipping to help protect freshness on the journey from Shelter Island to your door.
One important thing:
Warm them up. Trust us.
Give them a light splash of water and pop them into a 350°F oven for 7 to 10 minutes. That little bit of heat brings back the crust, the chew, and everything you want from a great bagel.
Or simply slice and toast.
Not eating them right away? Freeze them. Whole or pre-sliced, either works. Toast straight from frozen or let them thaw first.
Everything else in the shop
Bagel chips, seasoning, and merch are a lot less complicated than fresh bagels.
They ship at our regular rates:
- $9.99 flat-rate shipping
- Free shipping on orders over $30
If you order bagels and non-perishable items together, they ship separately because the bagels need the express lane.
If something goes wrong
If your bagels arrive damaged, delayed by the carrier, or anything less than they should be, email us at hello@eccentricbagel.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo.
We'll make it right.
Fresh bagels also shouldn't sit outside all day. If you're sending them to an office, a gift recipient, or another address, make sure someone can bring the box inside when it arrives.
